The Maastricht meeting played host to more than 85 guests from 33 different countries both in and outside Europe, including Estonia, Slovakia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Malta, Russia and Singapore. Two themes of the meeting were ‘Cardiac aging and associated comorbidities’ and ‘Novel alternative approaches to studying CVD’ and scientific sessions as well as roundtable discussions were tailored around these topics.
