The Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at The Biomedical Sciences Group KU Leuven has a leading position in cardiovascular research and a strong track record in translation, with a faculty that actively bridges clinical and basic research. The Department is recruiting a full-time faculty member for research on the development and validation of biomarkers as diagnostic tools and/or therapeutic targets using experimental studies to complement ongoing clinical and population-based research. The research program can build on data and samples generated from studies in ischemic cardiovascular disease, heart failure and cardio-metabolic disease, as well as several research programs using pre-clinical animal models.
